Common loons with chicks, Long Pond, Benton, New Hampshire. The chicks must have hatched on June 18 & 19. They were still on the nest with a parent Sunday morning June 20. Both chicks and an adult were on and about the nest for much of the morning before heading out. (The loon on the nest is banded).
