Norfolk Southern train 11R (Ayer, MA to Harrisburg, PA) emerges from the tunnel in the aptly named Tunnel, NY, behind SD70ACe 1191. Tunnel, NY, was the site of ‘The Battle of the Tunnel,’ where thugs hired by Jim Fisk fought with thugs hired by J.P. Morgan for control of the Albany and Susquehanna Railroad on August 10, 1869.
