For the last week or so, beautiful downtown West Newbury, Vermont, has hosted a gross of about 25 evening grosbeaks. Now, I'd have ignored them if there were only a couple dozen, but 25 was enough to get me out with the camera. You can see them from the parking lot of the Post Office.
A few of them visiting a downtown feeder.
Mrs. Grosbeak helps herself to a maple bud while waiting for space at the feeder.
This is Jimmy, The Schnozzola, showing off exactly why they're called 'grosbeaks.'
Mr. Grosbeak just looking pretty.
This guy seems to be wondering what I'm up to.
